The role:

Based at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse and reporting to the Manager, Hospitality Services, you will supervise and coordinate operational aspects of food, beverage, client and customer services to assigned events and functions.  You will also provide direction and support to casual food and beverage supervisors to improve operational efficiencies and provide outstanding customer service. The days per week vary to meet the demands of the events, this may include weekends and nights.

More specifically the focus will include:

  • Event Operations – Coordinating the forward planning, event set ups, and managing assigned race day and non race day events. Ensuring venue preparedness including but not limited to parking, security, cleaning and maintenance.
  • Functions & Events - Conducting detailed pre-service function and event briefings, assigning room sections and responsibilities for pre, during and post event.
  • Customer Experience - In conjunction with the Manager, Hospitality Services, develop and implement standards to improve customer service, the client experience, food and beverage event service, and controlling operational event efficiencies and costs.
  • Casual Staffing - Rostering of casual staff for functions and events and developing the skills of these staff.

What we are looking for

  • Functions, conferences and event services experience in an organisation with a reputation for quality customer service.
  • A strong understanding of food and beverage operations.
  • Excellent customer service and client relationship skills.
  • Strong team leadership, supervisory and motivational skills are a must including improving the performance of a team of people in a customer service environment.
  • An understanding of the interpretation and application of legislation relevant to food and beverage services such as HACCP and RSA and WH&S.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Awareness of venue services operations such as ticketing and car parking is beneficial.
  • Experience rostering a team of casual staff is desirable.
