THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an approximately 12-month contract, commencing at the end of January 2026 and concluding at the end of January 2027. The successful candidate will sit within the Meetings & Events Sales Department and will be responsible for driving business events growth and revenue across Royal Randwick (RR), Rosehill Gardens (RG) and other ATC venues through the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of existing corporate and business event relationships.
This role requires a commercially minded and strategic sales professional with strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as demonstrated experience within the meetings, events and venue sales market. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the role actively contributes to the development and execution of business plans that position ATC venues as premium events destinations.
DAY TO DAY, THE ROLE WILL:
- Identify and pursue new meetings and events business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead generation activities.
- Build, manage and maintain a robust meetings and events sales pipeline, nurturing long-term relationships with corporate clients, agencies and event partners.
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions and competitor activity to identify opportunities, risks and emerging customer needs.
- Articulate the value proposition of ATC’s meetings and events venues, products and services, clearly differentiating them from competing corporate event venues.
- Negotiate commercial terms and pricing agreements in collaboration with senior management to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Provide regular reporting, forecasts and pipeline updates to senior management on business development performance, achievements and challenges.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, operations and finance to ensure alignments and support for business development initiatives.
THE RIGHT FIT
To be successful in the role, the right candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in new business generation specifically within meetings and events, using telemarketing, marketing and sales initiatives to grow corporate and business events revenue
- Demonstrated success in identifying, winning and developing new meetings and events accounts, as well as retaining and expanding existing corporate client relationships.
- Experience in account management role which involves identifying and assessing leads and business opportunities and securing profitable transactions.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to analyse market data, identify opportunities, and develop effective business strategies.
- Sound understanding of the process of developing new and innovative meetings and events offerings from concept, design, pricing, market analysis through to execution.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrated sales success in meeting and/or exceeding revenue targets and KPI’s.
- Demonstrated experience working in commercial meetings and events venues within the events, hospitality, entertainment, tourism and/or leisure industries.
